Who offers insurance?

Although some providers may take a payment upfront, paying without any financial aid can add up to some nasty amounts! With insurance, you may encounter drastically lower prices for in-network providers, allowing you access to more sustainable treatment plans over time. During your first few sessions, we encourage you to speak with your provider about payment options, however you will be prompted by this question even during your initial search for your provider, as many accept different kinds of insurance. Below are some insurance opportunities you may be eligible for: 


  • Private Health Insurance Company
    • Privately owned and issue insurance policies to cover healthcare costs
    • Each company has different plans & tiers (platinum, gold, silver, bronze)
      • Each refer to the portion you must pay for the premium and each service


  • Medicaid
    • Federal-state health insurance for people with low income that qualify
    • Covers children, pregnant women, disabled, and any other qualified person
    • For more information on Medicaid benefits, see to the Medicaid Managed Care Programs


  • Medicare
    • Federal health insurance for: 
      • People aged 65 who have worked and paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years
      • People with certain disabilities and end-stage renal disease 


  • (State) Children’s Health Insurance Program ((S)CHIP)
    • Federal-state health insurance 
    • Covers children with families with income too high to qualify for Medicaid but unable to purchase private insurance
    • Provides comprehensive health insurance to children until age 18


  • State financed health insurance plan other than Medicaid
    • Programs funded by state government not categorized under Medicaid
    • Varies by state
    • Usually are state-run facilities that serve individuals meeting poverty requirements


  • Military Health Insurance
    • Available if you are/have been in the military 
    • Available if you have a direct family member that is in the military


  • Student Health Plans
    • Health insurance primarily for college students
    • Allows to stay on parents insure OR
    • Switch to an on-campus health insurance from the university OR
    • Adopt a private health insurance plan
    • Allows students to receive healthcare services at the health center covered completely or partially by the campus plan
    • Mental health services included
