Should I do in-person or remote care?
Congratulations! You are making your way through the first steps into your healing journey, and the initial one: picking physical or virtual care. While both show similarly positive effects, it is important you are able to attend your sessions and feel comfortable where you are when speaking with your provider.
You may want to consider in-person care if:
- It helps you to pick up on body language and nonverbal cues when communicating
- You like office settings
- You would be enjoy setting aside a time and place for therapy
You may want to consider remote care if:
- You feel nervous meeting with someone in person
- You have a busy schedule
- You do not have an easy way to travel to farther sessions
Remember, this experience is yours! If in-person therapy is recommended for your care by a provider but you prefer virtual care, you can add it on as a supplement. There are also other forms of therapy that sometimes work best for your concerns and stray from the traditional talk-therapy. Some of these include:
- Art therapy
- Expressive arts therapy
- Animal assisted psychotherapy
- And More!
